2006. Performance in Fundació Espais, Girona.
2009. Performance in Galeria MasArt, Barcelona. Material: photocopied texts, Tipp-ex, camera and projectors. Postproduction: photographic diptychs 130x40cm and texts intervened on during the performance, DinA-3.

In a first performance without an audience, we “opened spaces” in the pages of some books considered sacred in their religious traditions. The creation of these spaces supposed a trauma in the lecture of these untouchable scripts as a large part of the text was sacrificed with white corrector ink o with a penknife. The intention of this act was not to synthesis or to transform the meaning of the text, but to find the words of the text that can open new discourses, triggering possibilities.

The performance Vishnudda, performed in the gallery Espais in Girona, especially thought for the cicle “com accionar el diàleg?” (how to trigger dialogue?), is based on the dynamic of covering texts as a method to create timeless and physical spaces in the appropriation of external and sacred texts. The sacrifice that implies covering and the effort to have to repress a great part of the message with the final purpose of not closing spaces to new opportunities.

We filled a table in the gallery with texts that are considered sacred (religious and philosophical), after they invited the public to take a text, that they deemed important on a personal level, and told them to cover all the words that didn’t speak to them with tippex. While they covered the words, a video-camera filmed them while it played the text being “sacrificed” on a wall of the gallery, as the central part of a large retable. On the right of the projection of the live action, the physical result of the covered texts was visualized, now hung on the wall; and on the left, a photographic sequence from the series Espais d’oportunitat (Oportune spaces).

Three years later the action was repeated at the MasArt gallery in Barcelona, with contemporary catalan poetry texts.
